Teeling, Single Grain - Wine Casks, 46 %

Review #342
This has matured in Californian Cabernet Sauvignon casks. Classic grain whisky in the smell. Sweet vanilla and the maturation in wine casks leaves a smell of red berries like raspberry. Very mild on the nose without being week!

The wine casks are a bit more dominant in the taste. The vanilla mixes with some spices and ginger. The finish is actually rather long, and leaves you with the sweetness… Did I mention that it is a very sweet whisky?

I am normally not into red wine matured whisky, but this is good. The wine casks are assisting the whiskey, not overpowering it! It is very sweet, so you’d have to like the sweet grain type of whiskies, but then you get some bang for your bucks! I will rate this 86/100 (22/21/22/21).
