Glenfiddich 14 yo Rich Oak, 40 %

Review #27
Let’s take a trip to the valley of the deer (the meaning of Glenfiddich), to taste their 14 year old Rich Oak. It has aged for 14 years in bourbon barrels and then finished in fresh American and Spanish oak barrels.

Funnily enough there is a lot of wood in the nose. The smell also contains fresh fruits, citrus and vanilla. The taste is sweet. Fruits like dried apricots, raisins but still very fresh, and it is quite tasty for a 40 % whisky.

The finish is sweet as well, but the wood is very fast getting prominent. This is an easy to drink whisky. Perhaps a bit boring for the connoisseur, but quite good with food. I will rate this whisky 82/100 (20/20/21/21).
