Ledaig 15 yo (1990/2006), G&M – CC, 43 %

Review #31
A lovely Ledaig from the Connoisseurs Choice series from Gordon & Macphail. It is a whisky from refill sherry casks. The smell is light sherry with hints of salt and peat.

The taste is full of oak, spices, dried pineapple and other dried fruits like apricots and dates. Quite powerful the moment it hits the tongue, but not in a unpleasant way. In the finish I find honey, sweet barley and some salted toffee. It is very long and warm, and I would definitely recommend this for a snowy day!

It isn’t that complex but the balance is superb! All the way from the smell to the finish you know what this whisky is trying to say. It just keep getting better and better throughout the tasting experience. I will rate this 91/100 (21/23/23/24).
