Interlaken Classic, 46 %

Review #45
Swiss Highland Single Malt Whisky from Oloroso Sherry butts. It smells very young but with clear sherry hints. Some marzipan and honey but mostly the fruits and especially in form of apricots.

The palate is great. Very powerful. Not so much flavor in the taste as on the nose at first, but after a couple of minutes in the glass it starts to get even. Caramel, raisins, dates and the finish is great if you love sherry. It is over a bit fast and a couple of years extra in the sherry butt would do wonder though.

The balance is fine but it isn’t that complex. I am convinced that the complexity also would increase significant with a couple of years extra in the cask. But still a great dram and I will give this 87/100 (21/23/21/22). But remember I love whisky from sherry casks!
