From a Hogshead with casknumber 1525 comes bottle number 247 out of 278. It is from the Signatory Cask Strength Collection. Smoked bacon and hints of peat on the nose and glazed sweetness in the background.
The taste is very powerful at first due to the many percentages, but when it lingers of into the finish the peat and sweetness comes forward and fills your mouth watering. It seems much young than the 27 years, not in the bad way but in the feisty way.
The balance is fine, but I miss some taste, challenge and just complexity. But still a bastant whisky. Would I buy it? For the price, probably not… But I will still rate this 90/100 (23/22/23/22).
