This single cask is from a sherry hogshead with the
number 403. It was exclusively made for the Danish market and only 337 bottles
were made. This is from the year that the distillery opened. The smell is
fantastic with light sherry influence and some light addition of caramel and
fresh fruits like apples and pears.
The taste has a funny wood influence. Very close to
peat. The finish is nice and chewable. Some dark fruits and burned sugars.
Classic balance and typical sherry complexity. It is
just really nice all the way through. A natural colored – non-chillfiltered –
cask strength – single cask – whisky! What’s not to love? I will rate this 91/100
(23/22/23/23).
