Review #142 |
This whisky is called “Dark, smouldering flamenco
gypsy” and is made from a refill ex-sherry butt. 594 bottles were made and it
was bottled for Feis Ile 2015. Mild peat and sweetness, but yet very powerful
in the smell. After a couple of minutes in the glass more peat comes forward
alongside some maritime notes.
It burns at first in the taste and then the peat fills
your mouth and leaves it watery. The finish is so smooth, and the classic
Bowmore mixed with the dried fruits works extremely well.
You can easily give this some water. Some tannins will
appear as some of most noticeable. A great Bowmore from SMWS. Thanks! I will
rate this 91/100 (22/23/24/22).
