This
Mortlach from Gordon & MacPhail is from refill sherry hogsheads. Classic
Mortlach with classic sherry notes in the smell. Some sweet fruit, almost
tropical, mixes with the heavier dried fruits. Some light oak and marzipan in
the end.
Sweet dried
fruits fills your mouth. The taste is a bit heavy at first, but then the fruits
and notes of berries appear more and more as the finish comes around. It stays
for quite a while considering it is only 43 %.
Not that
complex sherry whisky, but it has a great balance. It just good from start to
finish, and definitely a whisky I will come back too when it starts to snow! I
will rate this 88/100 (22/22/22/22).
