Review #237 |
This whisky is called “Elastoplast on a roasted
tongue” and come from a refill sherry butt. Only 596 bottles were made. The
smell is full of sweet peat and is very rough on the nose. Some light fruity
notes in the background behind the alcohol.
POW! A heavy arrival at the first sip. Some
plums and vanilla in the taste, but not like a classic sherry influenced
whisky. The finish is great, and now some classic sherry influence with dried
fruits comes forward.
For an 18 year old whisky the notes from the oak
is pretty impressive. If you find it to strong or rough, give it some water and
it mellows and some sweetness appear. I will rate this 88/100 (21/22/23/22).
