Review #245 |
This single
cask whisky comes from cask no. 2012-122 and only 392 bottles were made. The
flavors are compact in the smell! Vanilla, marzipan but mostly rubber at first.
Give it a couple of minutes in the glass and it settles down and opens up for
some light fruity flavors. After a couple of minutes extra in the glass, I can
sense some hints of oak and citrus. I better get to the tasting, as it seems
like this could go on forever!
Burned
sugar and oak at first in the taste. Very heavy and thick on the sugar notes,
yet not too sweet… Very lovely in the finish. The oak takes over and some rough
notes of grass and hay appears. After a couple of sips I get some hints of
citrus again in the background.
It is not a
world class whisky, but it is fun, and the strange combination of different
flavors just mixes together like it is the most normal thing in the world!
Water definitely makes the whisky more approachable, but in my opinion, a bit
more doll… I will give this 86/100 (21/21/22/22).
