Review #277 |
To be
precise, this is bottled 30-09-2014. It is a mixture of Bourbon and Sherry
casks. It reminds me a lot of the normal 10 year old, but with much more
sweetness. Here the sweetness and the dried fruits are the first things that
hits my nose. The light peat is really hiding in the background, and it
actually first came to me after some minutes in the glass.
So full of
dried fruits and power! After a couple of sips, the mouth is open for the high
ABV and the fruity flavors starts rushing in. Dates, plums, raisins and prune
juice. The oak influence really shows in the finish, that by the way stays
forever!
The balance
in the mouth is great! It all works together beautifully from start to finish,
but it doesn’t surprise you. But for a 10 year old cask strength is works like
a charm! I will give this 88/100 (22/21/23/22).
