From Douglas Laing comes this refill hogshead
with the cask number DL11061. Only 224 bottles were made. Light white fruits
towards the exotics in the smell. Sweet vanilla and sweet biscuits. The oak is
mild and gentle.
So sweet in the taste!! Sugary, syrupy –
like Crème Brulee. Oak and wood spices with vanilla on the side. It doesn’t
change much in the finish, but the sweetness lingers out beautifully! Some
fruitiness comes forward though. Sweet pears and dessert-like pineapples.
A true old grain whisky. Very sweet, but
with many other things going on as well. A good whisky for desserts that would
go great with most things. This is a whisky I could keep coming back to. I will
give this 87/100 (21/22/22/22).
