Bruichladdich The Organic Scottish Barley, 50%

Review #540
This is bottled in 2014 and made for the travel retail market. Strange marzipan notes is the first I notice in the smell. Mixed with just a hint of rubber. After a couple of minutes some sweetness, mostly honey, and white fruits starts to appear.

Some farm notes is the first I get in the taste. Hay and oak. Some sweet vanilla and honey comes forward and the white fruits gets very dominant. Pears. Loads of pears! The finish gets a bit citrusy with sugar-syrupy sweetness.

It is a sweet expression from Bruichladdich, but perhaps not as sweet as you might think reading the above tasting notes. A sweet and light expression I might not would have guessed to be 50 %. In the good way! I will give this 84/100 (20/21/22/21).
