Glenfiddich 19 yo, Age of Discovery - Bourbon, 40%

Review #535
This was originally for travel retail. This is the second release in the series. It is very sweet at first in the smell. Fresh white fruits, like apples and pears, but also hints of more exotic fruits like pineapple. Some sugary, biscuit and vanilla sweetness in the end.

Considering it is watered down to 40 %, it is actually very rich in flavours in the taste! Some oak and vanilla sweetness. Wood spices and honey. The finish is full of burned caramel at first. Then some sweet raisins and more vanilla.

A very fine dram from Glenfiddich! The age and the quality of the ex-Bourbon casks have made sure this is still very flavourful, even though the ABV is low. I can only dream about how great this would have been at a higher strength! I will give this 87/100 (22/21/22/22).
