DYC 10 yo, 40 %

Review #15
There is not a lot of Spanish whisky out there, but one of the bigger is DYC, owned by Beam Suntory. They make a lot of different styles, from blends to single malt whisky. The one I am about to try is a 10 year old single malt.

The smell is almost only malt. There are some hints of floral notes, and after a minute in the glass some baked banana (maybe bananacake?) comes forward. The taste is also very malty. Also a lot of wood and oak. From all the malt, I´ve expected it to be very sweet, but it wasn’t. And in the good way!

The finish is actually very long for a 10 year old whisky that is watered down to 40 %. Some oak and nuts comes to mind. I will give this whisky 80/100 (19/20/21/20).
