Old Pulteney 30 yo (2011), 44 %

Review #47
This is the 2011 version, and it is stores only in bourbon barrels. The smell is so light with lots of notes of citrus, vanilla and honey. Classic bourbon cask influence but very good crafted.

In the taste some wood appears. Very oily and full-bodied. The smell and taste just carries on into the finish and leaves you joyful. The complexity is as complex as a bourbon barrel whisky can be, but the balance is exceptional.

As much other old whisky you have to give this time. Take a sip and leave the glass for 5 or 10 minutes and when you return you will find a whisky that is much more in balance. Or in Zen as a Chinese would say. I will rate this 90/100 (23/22/22/23).
