This Clynelish is made from a Refill Ex-sherry Butt,
is called ‘Say it with flowers’ and 586 bottles were made. The smell is filled
with mint. Some oak vanilla as well, and it is pretty decent on the nose. I
spent some time with it in the glass.
The taste is very influenced by the oak. Taste like
toasted oak and only some slight hints of sherry. In the finish you get some
honey and different nuts.
For a 29 years old Clynelish from a sherry cask I am a
bit disappointed. The sherry is almost unnoticeable and you don’t get much
complexity. Still a fine dram though. I will give this 86/100 (22/21/22/21).
