This time I will take a trip to the Islands. To be
exact: Isle of Arran. Arran Distillers claims that this 10 year old, without a
doubt, is a ‘must have’ in the collection of all Single Malt Whisky
enthusiasts. Well, let’s see about that! The smell is fresh and salty ocean
breeze starts to flow with a hint of citrus.
You get some sweetness in the taste. Vanilla and honey
sweetness mixed with barley and the 46 % is doing well for the whisky. Not too
much change in the finish and it just dies a bit quick and water doesn’t seem
to do much for this whisky
It is a fine dram, but to claim that it is a ‘must
have’ is a bit over the top. Unless they mean that a whisky enthusiast must
have several hundred bottles in their collection. I will give this 83/100 (21/22/20/20).
