This is a part of Diageos range ”Classic Malts”. Light
floral notes on the nose with caramel. Give it a couple of minutes and a lot of
fruit appear.
Some dried fruit comes forward in the taste and mixes
with the fresh fruit and the caramel turns to honey. The finish has some malt
and spices, and perhaps I can sense some gentle and light smoke in the
background? Maybe it is just from the burned or toasted oak from the barrels.
The whisky is very “Highland”-like in smell, taste and
character. It is both smooth and fresh but not that complex and a bit boring in
the balance. I will rate this 86/100 (21/22/22/21).
