Glen Grant 25 yo (1988), SMWS 9.84, 55,6 %

This whisky is called ”Playing ’Sea Battle’ in the garden” and comes from a Refill ex-sherry butt. 534 bottles were made. SMWS states that the color is like “Pirates golden earrings”. Well… I love their descriptions. The smell is light and fresh. Some floral notes like tulips.

The taste is sharp. Some water helps and some floral and light fruity notes appear. The finish die rather fast but some light, very light, floral notes stays in the mouth if you really concentrates.

A pretty simple, and to be honest, a bit boring 25 year old whisky lacking complexity. I wouldn’t have guessed it to be from a sherry butt. I will give this 82/100 (21/21/20/20).
