Aultmore 29 yo (1982), SMWS 73.44, 53,7 %

This whisky is named ”Old friends remembered” and comes from a refill ex-sherry butt. 207 bottles were made. The smell is sherry influenced just like it should be! Warm and inviting, filled with hints of raisins, dates and fruity sweetness.

The taste is powerful at first but lingers of into the finish like umff… First you get the taste of all the dried fruits, then the sweetness from it. Not that complex but you just get exactly what you want in an old sherry influenced whisky!

Remember I am a sherry-head, but an old, well balanced, sherry single cask at cask strength just warm my heart. I will rate this 91/100 (24/22/23/22).
