This Ledaig comes from a refill sherry butt. The
sherry notes balance perfect with the salty Island notes in the smell. Not much
sweetness here, only a bit from the dried fruits. A robust whisky, like
standing on the edge of cliff and feel the breeze from the big waves coming in.
The taste is great. The salty, dry, light peaty taste
mixed with some dried fruit is again very well balanced. If you like Island
whisky, you will like this! It gets a bit watery in the finish and dies to
fast.
I would love to taste this at cask strength! I am sure
it would have been a high scorer! I will rate this 89/100 (22/23/21/23).
