Deanston Virgin Oak, 46,3 %

Review #148
Different ages of bourbon casks is married and then finished in fresh American oak afterwards in a couple of weeks. It is light in the smell with hints of barley, some slight citrus and fresh oak. I don’t think the wood have been burned very much.

It has little bite in the beginning from the alcohol in the taste. Very citrusy mixed with vanilla and light oak. The finish is the best thing about this and luckily it isn’t watered down to 40 % and that shows.

A fun and different whisky, and the virgin oak shows even though it is only a couple of weeks it is finished in the fresh oak. I will give this 81/100 (20/20/21/20).
