Review #149 |
This 12 year old Laphroaig is from Duncan Taylors series
”The NC2 Range”. I get peat, delicate citrus, chocolate and caramel on the
nose.
The taste is very peaty at first. Then you get some
light oak influence, black pepper and honey sweetness. The peat gets very
mellow in the finish and some sugary sweetness blends with the honey.
Considering the peatyness it is actually very easy to
drink. Thank God that it isn’t watered down to 40 %. It is 46 % and the finish
still dies a bit fast. It is a bit sad because I think that the finish would
have been phenomenal at cask strength. I will rate this 89/100 (22/23/22/22).
