This single cask from Springbank is from a refill
bourbon cask. Only 168 bottles were made. It got a fresh and sweet smell.
Marzipan, caramel, vanilla, honey and apples. It got some light fruitiness like
a Chardonnay white wine.
It is cask strength and it shows! Fresh fruits again,
and some very light peat and salt in the taste. The finish is so smooth. All
kinds of sweetness are rushing in and lays perfectly in the mouth.
This shows that whisky from bourbon casks can be very
complex and full bodied. The finish is so great and I could sit for hours with
just a small dram. I will rate this 92/100 (22/23/24/23).
