This Laphroaig is from A.D. Rattray’s series ”Cask
Collection” and comes from cask number 5924 which was a bourbon cask. Only 110
bottles were made. There is peat, citrus, hints of salt and iodine in the
smell. Classic Laphroaig.
The taste is so great and cask strength suites this
whisky perfect. Peat and iodine, with vanilla and hints of salt and citrus in
the finish.
I really love older Islays. The peat is so dominant
but still very gentle. The cask strength is spot on, and not “cask strength
strong” at all. Candy for bearded men! I will rate this 92/100 (22/24/23/23).
