This whisky is called “Surreal lunch with a mermaid” and comes from a refill ex-bourbon hogshead. Only 139 bottles were made. Classic Bowmore on the nose. A lot of peat and citrus.
Again peat and citrus in the taste. The finish is just a continuation but some sweeter notes appear. A bit oak shows itself in the end.
For an older Bowmore the complexity is a bit disappointing. Not much else is going on. Water only seems to bring forward the alcohol roughness. I will give this 83/100 (21/21/21/20).
