This Glen
Grant is called ”Il capodanno in cucina!”, comes from a refill hogshead and
only 154 bottles were made. When the alcohol roughness lingers off after a
couple of minutes in the glass, the sweetness starts to fill your nose. Very
much like Christmas cake.
The taste
is very malty and sweet. It is actually not that feisty for a cask strength.
The finish is somewhat the same as the taste, just different flavors of malt
and sweetness.
A fine malt
and it is a very classical Glen Grant. I would recommend some water. I got some
spicy notes and it just got a bit more balanced. I will give this 85/100
(21/21/22/21).
