Review #208 |
This is
from Douglas McGibbons series Provenance. It is cask number DMG 1309. It is
only 8 years old and it is a bit sharp on the nose. Give it some time and some
sweet marzipan mixes with some light lemongrass.
It is very
fresh in the taste. The Island touch is slightly salty and citrusy. Some fresh
cut grass as well. The salt really sticks in the finish. Some notes of caramel
as well, but it isn’t very sweet.
The balance
is fine but it definitely lacks some complexity. It is pretty straight forward.
The classic Arran notes of citrus and salt and not much more. This is from back
when Arran had just begun producing whisky, and I have to say that the newer
Arran´s is better, in my opinion! I will give this 80/100 (20/20/20/20).
