Review #272 |
Here we got
the basic 12 year old Bowmore from the core range. It has caramel in it, and by
the looks of it, it is also chill filtered. Sweet and salty Islay peat in the
smell. Some citrusy notes as well and the sweetness gets more and more
honey-like.
It is light
peated and full of lemon in the taste. Some vanilla and caramel as well. Not
much else is going on, and nothing new comes to mind in the finish. You are
left behind with some sweet citrus and peat, and just a hint of ashes.
The finish
is my favorite part, and with just a bit higher ABV it could have been great. It
reminds me a bit about Bowmore Legend with all that lemon, just a tad older. I
will give this 82/100 (20/20/21/21).
