Highland Park 12 yo, 40 %

Review #318
Some peat and light citrus is the first that hits my nose. It is very gentle. I had to give it a couple of minutes before something happened and it started to open up. Some apples, sweet can pears and vanilla comes forward.

Quite some peat in the taste. Again lemons, some fresh grass and sweet vanilla. Very sweet actually! The sweetness goes on to the finish where some fresh fruits accompanies the citrus and the peat.

Unfortunately at 40 % it is a bit watery and the finish is over rather fast. The flavors anyway. For me it is a great example for a standard Island whisky. I will give this 80/100 (20/20/20/20).
