Arran 12 yo (1996/2008), ADR, 55,7 %

Review #332
This is from A.D. Rattrays series ‘Individual Cask Bottling’, and it comes from a Puncheon with cask number 96/723. Only 656 bottles were made. Marzipan, floral and citrusy at first in the smell. Oranges… Lots of orange! The wood is gentle, yet I sense some tannins in the background.

Heavy in the taste. The oak is more dominant here. Again I sense some tannins. Marzipan, nuts and spicy vanilla. Some citrusy notes appear in the finish, but it is mainly some sweet caramel and toffee notes that stays behind.

This is a funny one. This cask has such a big influence on the whisky, and it really takes it in a different direction. Great choice to bottle this as a single cask! I will rate this 85/100 (21/22/21/21).
