Isle of Jura 30 yo, Carnas an Staca, 44 %

Review #331
This was bottled in 2012 after 27 years in American white oak, and then finished for 3 years in sherry casks. The smell is full of salty sweet toffee. Very typical Jura, yet very elegant. Some dried fruits, sweet licorice and dark chocolate in the end.

Some very light sweet peat mixes great with the dried fruits in the taste. The salty Jura theme is still there! A lot of spices comes forward in the finish. The oak is present as well, but blends great with the dried fruits.

It is only 44 %, but that is just perfect for this dram! Got a lot of flavor and the low ABV really lets you explore that. A fantastic dram from Jura, and I think that the gentle peat and the sherry cask maturation suits the Jura style very well. I will rate this 89/100 (22/22/23/22).
