Dalmore Valour, 40 %

Review #349
It is matured bourbon casks, then transferred to 30 year old Matusalem oloroso sherry casks and then finished in Port pipes. A lot of flavors is coming through in the smell. Fruity sweetness, vanilla, red berries, dried fruits, black currants just to name some. It is as if I am experiencing something new every time I’m picking up the glass!

The same compactness is in the taste. The deep red berries accompanied with nuts and dried fruits is really nice. The finish is long, medium warm and some beautiful marzipan sweetness sneaks up on you. The Port finish has done a great job here!

This is just a beautiful dram from start to finish. What I wouldn’t give to try this at cask strength! Even at the 40 % it packs a lot of flavor, but it could be something stunning if they let it! I will rate this 88/100 (22/22/22/22).
