Clynelish DE (1992/2007), 46 %

Review #395
The bottle code is: Cl-Br: 170-2g. It is double matured in Oloroso Seco Sherry casks. Dry wood, leather, tobacco and dried fruits in the smell. It has the elegance of an old whisky and the dried fruits don’t dominate the nose.

Again, in the taste it feels like you sitting in an old dusty leather chair in an old library. More fruity notes comes forward in the finish. Dried dates and apricots, but still with the tobacco and leather. It is as if the sweetness never comes truly forward. Not that it is a bad thing in this case!

A very good dram, but it gets a little predictable, and it is the same flavours that I get all the way through. But that doesn’t matter when it is the exactly right flavours! And the good part is that none of flavours takes too much control of the dram. I will give this 87/100 (22/22/22/21).
