Kilchoman 2007 Vintage Release, 46 %

Review #414
This is 6 years old (2007/2013). 10.000 bottles were made. Very farmer-like in the smell. Peat, grass, hay and wood. But more like in an old barn kind of way. All this, without any alcohol roughness on the nose whatsoever!

Very powerful at first in the taste considering it is only 46 %. Heavy peat and loads of hay and grass. Hints of herbs and spices as well. The peat gets a bit sweeter in the finish and some burned oak and burned sugar mixes in.

A very well balanced dram. Not very complex, but in a good uncomplicated way. They really know what they are doing out there on the Islay farm distillery, and they really shows us that age isn’t everything! I will give this 86/100 (21/22/21/22).
