Sainsbury, Speyside Single Malt, 40 %

Review #403
From Sainsbury comes this Speyside Single Malt matured in Bourbon casks. Vanilla, green apples, vanilla, some sweet pears and vanilla in the smell. It seems very young, but it has matured enough to get the vanilla and sweet notes.

A bit more is going on in the taste. And not just a continuation, but something different as well. Light oak influence, some spices (mostly peppery) and some floral notes. The finish is short but warm, but not much new here. Both the taste and the finish is of course influenced by vanilla and white fruits all the way.

A bit indifferent dram and some might think that it is a bit of a waste of time. The price is not bad though, so if you are looking for something light (maybe even with an ice cube) to enjoy on a hot summers day or with your friends, then why not. I will give this 79/100 (19/20/20/20).
