Glentauchers 18 yo (1996/2014), Chapter 7, 48,3 %

Review #430
This is from the series ”A Whisky Anthology” and it is a single cask, from the Bourbon barrel with the number 3609. Only 173 bottles were made. It is very light on the nose with bananas and coconut. Some Chardonnay white wine notes as well.

The ABV is very suiting for this whisky. Right amount of alcohol burn mixes with the white fruits and banana cake in the taste. The finish is great and the oak influence from the 18 years of maturation really does its part here! Some spices comes forward as well.

A good straight forward dram that, due to the 48,3 %, can be drammed easily without water even though it is cask strength. Yet there is still room for you to play with a little water. If I have to say anything, I might miss a little complexity. I will give this 84/100 (20/21/22/21).
