Review #429 |
From the
series “A Whisky Anthology” comes this single cask from a Bourbon Hogshead, with
the cask no 1849. Only 335 bottles were made. It is young and that really shows
in the smell! But not in a bad way. Hints of new make, loads of green apples,
vanilla and marzipan. Just so very fresh!
Very
powerful in the taste, but the new make notes mixed with rich vanilla sweetness and apples
makes it quite enjoyable! A very long finish, that is mostly just warm. In the
end, when the alcohol is gone, the apples and vanilla stays behind.
This really shows that even young whisky with
new make notes can be very good. It is very simple and not very complicated
which suits this dram! And as a bonus you get a great idea about how Tomatin
new make taste like! I will give this 82/100 (20/21/21/20).
