Glen Mhor 24 yo (1982/2006), Oddbins, 46%

Review #453
This is from the series ”Against the Grain” and comes from a refill Sherry hogshead with the cask number 422. Only 190 bottles were made. The nose is light and fine with notes of white fruits. After a couple of minutes in the glass, this changes to heavier fruits. Raisins and hints of dark bitter chocolate.

Some grass and hay (and just a touch of peat) mixes with some sweet dried fruits in the taste. The oak comes forward as well and is the dominating factor in the finish. Bitter oak, with the hay notes coming back again.

This is a steady solid dram from start to finish, but nothing more. In my opinion of course! Not much the cask have to offer after 24 years in a Sherry cask. Refill indeed! I will give this 84/100 (21/21/21/21).
