Review #671 |
This is
single cask no. 98 from Maltbarn. It is matured in Bourbon and wine casks, which I
guess means it’s a wine cask finish, and only 155 bottles were made. Classic
thick Bruichladdich marzipan in the smell. A bit of hay and dried fruits with
vanilla in the end.
Big and
meaty in the taste. Hay and farm-like notes mixed with fruits and burned oak. Sweet
raisins, dates and dried apricots. The finish gets a bit more sweet, and more
vanilla and red fruits comes forward. Especially red berries.
