Burned oak
and peppery spices in the taste. Still very sweet though! The exotic fruits
mixes great with the oak. It doesn’t get less sweet in the finish. Quite contrary
– more ‘thick’ and syrupy. However, it seems like the oak has gotten the upper
hand here.
I think
this is at a point where some will think the oak is too dominant. Personally, I
don’t think that we are there yet, but I think they were right to bottle it
now. A very fine blended malt, if you are in the mood for a Bourbon matured
whisky where the oak is dominant. I will give this 87/100 (21/22/22/22).
