Review #708 |
A single
cask from The Single Cask. It is matured in a Bourbon barrel with the cask
number AR96A and only 60 bottles were made. White fruits with grassy notes in
the smell. White grapes and sweet shortbread.
A bit
‘darker’ notes comes forward in the taste. White fruits again, but with a
burned oak touch. Vanilla and salted caramel. The finish is nice, warm and
long. Some brown sugar joins in, alongside the other flavours.
A great Bourbon matured whisky with loads of
flavour, and even though it is more than 21 years old, the oak isn’t too
dominating (and that is meant in a positive sense). I will give this 89/100
(22/22/23/22).
