GlenDronach 14 yo, Virgin Oak Finish, 46%

Review #716
This is matured in European oak, before finished in virgin oak casks. 5.760 bottles were made. Oak, caramel and a bit of sourness in the smell. Some sugars and oranges behind the oak.

A bit of sour notes from the wood at first in the taste. Loads of sugar and some white fruits and citrus. Still oaky, but not as much as in the smell. The finish gets a bit better, but the sour notes still hang around...

This is just a bit off for me. Normally I love GlenDronach and their choice of casks, but this  doesn’t seem to be the best casks they have around... I will give this 79/100 (20/19/20/20).
