Glen Moray 20 yo (1995/2016), SMWS 35.154, 54,2%

Review #735
This whisky is called “Rewarding end” and comes from a first fill ex-Bourbon barrel. Only 216 bottles were made. Slow starter on the nose. Candied apples and honey in the smell. After some time it starts to open up, but still mild and elegant. Raisins and hints of aok spices like cinnamon.

White fruits at first in the taste, but not fresh white fruits. More like oven baked pears accompanied with creamy vanilla. Some darker notes – like sweet dried fruits – and hints of cigar in the finish. The oak mixes great with the other flavours in the end.

Oh, how great would this go with a cigar! It´s old and elegant, and just shows that old Glen Moray wins by being cask strength! Not that it doesn’t need any water – you can easily add some if you like! And make sure to take you time for this – it just gets better sip for sip. I will give this 88/100 (22/22/22/22).
