Bladnoch 25 yo (1990), SMWS 50.82, 60,8%

Review #741
This whisky is called “Feel-good dram” and comes from a refill ex-Bourbon barrel. Only 84 bottles were made. Above 60%, but very elegant on the nose. Baked apples, honey and oak. Some oak spices in the end as well.

The oak and vanilla is the first thing that comes forward in the taste. But straight away you get rewarded with loads of fantastic flavours! Baked white fruits and oak spices. The finish is very sweet! Loads of brown sugar, accompanied with warm baked apple pie.

Just wow! The age have given this complexity and a fantastic balance! This is a perfect example of why many people prefer old ex-Bourbon matured whisky – and Bladnoch is phenomenal at that! I will give this 92/100 (22/23/23/24).
