Review #750 |
This young
Imperial is from the Duncan Taylor series Battlehill. Not much else is known,
except that it should be natural colour and unchill filtered. It´s pleasant,
but not much comes through in the smell. Some white fruits and a little baked
apple pie.
Some more
flavour and a little alcohol burn in the taste. White fruits and just a hint of
oak spices – mostly a mix of oak and cinnamon. Some smoother honey notes comes
forward in the finish, and leaves the expression a bit sweeter than what the
overall impression showed.
It might be a bit young, but not in the way that
you get loads of citrusy and grainy notes. In my opinion, when you have
something like this, you should leave it longer in the casks or bottle it at a
higher strength to preserve some of the flavours. I will give this 81/100 (20/20/21/20).
