Glenfiddich, Experimental Series #02 – Project XX, 43%

Review #752
This is made by 20 Malt Masters. They each picked an expression from the Glenfiddich warehouses, which was then married together by Malt Master Brian Kinsman. A sweet mix of vanilla and honey in the smell. Spices and herbs mixes with the oak. Just a small hint of dried fruits - like raisins.

Quite tasty in the taste. The oak really comes forward with notes of tobacco and tannins. Some more dried fruits as well. The oak has quiet down in the finish, and leaves room for some sweetness. Burned caramel in particular, but honey smooth.

Started a bit boring perhaps, but took my by surprise. A great dram if you like oak influence. Especially I find those tobacco notes enjoyable! I dark fruity dram, that would compliment a cigar nicely. I will give this 87/100 (21/22/22/22).
