Balblair 2000 (bottled 2011), 2nd Release, 43%

Review #753
This is matured in ex-Bourbon casks. Loads of white fruits and just a hint of citrusy notes in the smell. Some tropical fruits comes forward as well – pineapple and coconuts. So fresh!

Baked apples and vanilla in the taste. Honey and candied apples. The finish is full of tropical fruits – again a great mix of pineapple and coconuts. The sweetness comes forward as well, in the finish, but it is not the focus of this whisky.

This is so fresh, and would be perfect with a beer on the side a hot summer day in the garden! If you like a young (relatively) good quality ex-Bourbon matured whisky, this is something you should go for! I will give this 86/100 (21/22/22/21).
