Prádlo, Hammer Head 23 yo (bottled 1989), 40,7%

Review #763
This is matured solely in Czech oak casks. Loads of marzipan in the smell, but also some off notes of… Is it Slivovitz? Plums and alcohol. Not much oak influence for a 23 year old whisky…

Kind of the same impression in the taste. Very fruity, but more like fruits from the distillation and not the maturation. Mostly plums. The finish is quite decent, and leaves you some sweetness. Still plums though…

At a blind tasting, I would be in doubt to what spirit this is… And those Czech oak casks doesn’t seem to leave much flavour – next time they should go with more traditional casks! I will give this 75/100 (18/18/20/19).
